About
Greetings! I'm Dez Haley. As a devoted wife and mother of four, my family and I are passionate homesteaders! I proudly served in the U.S. Army, completing two deployments, including one to Iraq during the early stages of the war (2004-2005).
Military Service After experiencing some common health issues, such as my son’s eczema and my increasing list of autoimmune diseases, I felt a deep urge to reconnect with nature, much like I did in my childhood. This time, however, I had a mission: to explore the world that God has given me, seek my own answers, and take charge of my health. Although my journey began 20 years ago, I was inspired to return to school, utilizing my GI Bill to earn a degree in complementary alternative medicine with a focus on medical phytotherapy. As a medical phytotherapist, I study the phytochemicals in plants and the pathophysiology of diseases, helping to pair individuals with the herbs that best suit their needs. I don't adhere to the “this for that” approach to herbalism that is often promoted on social media. Instead, I teach about herbs in a way that is applicable regardless of the circumstances you face, empowering you to discover the answers you seek. I previously ran an apothecary and wellness center in downtown Dekalb, IL, for two years before I felt the call of the Kentucky foothills. Here I am now, having been featured in various magazine and newspaper articles that highlight my remedies and military background. From combat veteran to holistic healer, that’s my journey.
Degree from ACHS I am also a Human Design Chart Reading Specialist. This system really gave me my life back and help me process my PTSD. I am glad you found my page and I hope you learn a thing or two that you are excited to pass along!
